Tim Manning supports Fiji Island Rugby Team |

Rush said it was an honour to give something back to Fijian rugby players, who have been part of his career. "I'm never sure which of us is more passionate about rugby, but I reckon I can claim to know a bit about the game," said Rush. "Some of my toughest and most challenging games over the years both physically and mentally were against the champion Fiji side. "Now with the growth of rugby internationally, those of us who care for Fiji and the game must do what we can to ensure Fiji and Fijians get more of the benefits." Manning, who is a philanthropist, said he had a particular soft spot for rugby. "Eric and I feel very close to the people of Fiji, who have generously taken us into their country and their hearts," Manning said. "We both feel so at home here that we are always looking at ways we can support worthwhile causes. "Neither of us had it easy as kids, so we look for people who work hard at improving themselves and benefit their own communities, not just themselves." Other aid projects done by PIP include the installation of a diesel generator and water tanks. P4P provides teaching resources, classroom furniture, computers, medical supplies, clothes, books, toys, sports equipment and shoes to deprived villages, under-resourced schools and needy medical centres in Fiji. |
